The Cattedrale di Saint Lazare, located in Autun in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France, is a Romanesque church built in the 12th and 13th centuries. Its oldest structure, the crypt, was constructed around 1120 AD. The building's striking exterior features the portal of Saint Lazarus and the iconic neo-Byzantine spire added in 1890. Inside the cathedral, you'll find colorful and intricate stained glass windows, carved stone statues, and intricate mosaic decorations. Be sure to explore the checkered floor, carved wooden choir stalls, and the 16th century fresco by Philippe de Champaigne depicting the martyrdom of Saint Lazarus.
