Castello del Buonconsiglio, in Trento, Italy is a magnificent medieval castle and a museum complex located at the heart of the city. Dating back to the 12th century, it served as the residence of the prince-bishops of Trento until 1803. The castle consists of a number of different buildings, most of which were added over the centuries. The 3 inner courtyards, known as Pietra, Bronzo and Legno, are connected by atmospheric arcades and galleries. These courtyards contain a number of attractions which include splendid gardens, an armory, and a chapel.
