Burnham Harbor is located on the shore of Lake Michigan in downtown Chicago, United States. It is one of the man-made harbors created in the early 1900s as part of the Chicago River development project. This harbor is home to several marinas, seasonal boating events, sport fishing charters, and commercial boating. The south wall of the harbor is a popular place for locals to relax in the spring and summer, with an outdoor restaurant with sight lines to Navy Pier, Soldier Field, and the Adler Planetarium. You can also find a range of watersport activities like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Twelve acres of the harbor are public space open for public use, including boat launch ramps and picnic sites. During the summer, Burnham Harbor is a great place to take in the city sights and sounds and enjoy a spot of relaxation.
