Skógafoss Waterfall

Skógafoss Waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland and certainly worth visiting. Located on the Skógá River on the southern coast, it is a beautiful, powerful cascade of water that plunges from a height of 82 feet (25 meters) and has a width of nearly 150 feet (43 meters). It is one of the most photographed attractions in the country, mainly due to its great power and the spectacular double rainbow that can often be seen from it. Visitors can take a path up to the top of the falls and admire the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The nearby cliffs offer the best vantage point to view stunning views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. From the top, you can spot a magnificent view of the Rangárõngill volcano. An interesting detail of this waterfall is that by the legend, behind it is a secret Viking chest with gold.
