San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is a major feat of modern engineering, connecting the cities of San Francisco and Oakland together with an iconic span of over four miles. The original bridge was opened in 1936 and replaced the famous ferry system that once spanned the bay. In 2013, the eastern span of the Bay Bridge was replaced with a new section wide enough to accommodate bicycle traffic.
