Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia, Argentina is a mesmerizing site not to be missed! An immense mass of ice measuring 5 km wide and 30 km long, the glacier is located in Los Glaciares National Park near El Calafate. The glacier is part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the largest non-polar ice fields in the world. Every year it moves 2 meters forward, and every four or five years the front face of the glacier calves sections of ice into Lake Argentino causing massive, thunderous ice formations. Visitors can take in views of the glacier on foot at ground level, as well as by boat.
