Maiden's Tower

The Maiden's Tower, in Üsküdar, Turkey is an iconic tower located in the middle of the Istanbul Bosphorus. The tower is believed to have been built in the 12th century, and has often featured in myths and legends. The structure is believed to be associated with the legend of an Emperor's daughter who was sentenced to death, but rescued from the executioner's hands when she was taken to the tower on the evening of her 18th birthday. Inside the tower is a cafe and bar, offering a stunning panoramic view of Istanbul and the Bosphorus. Visitors can take a boat tour of the Bosphorus to view the tower from afar, or opt to walk along the shoreline of Üsküdar.
