Liberty Square Arch

The Liberty Square Arch is located in the East Gate district of Chinatown, in the heart of the Tamshui Old Street district. It is a three-story arch that was originally built in 1728, during the Qing dynasty, as part of a waterfront barrier wall. Through the arch runs the Tamshui River. Today it is surrounded by a beautiful garden. It serves as a gateway between the old and new districts of Tamshui, and it reflects Chinese culture and the spirit of the people of Tamshui.
