Kaup Lighthouse

Kaup Lighthouse is a historic site located in Padu, India. Built in 1901, it is one of the few lighthouses which is still functional today. Standing 32 meters tall and having a total weight of 339 tonnes, it is an impressive site to behold. It is situated a few kilometers from the town of Kaup, in Udupi district. It provides a magnificent view of the coastline from its location in the middle of Kaup Beach, which is renowned for its white sands and splendid sunsets. The lighthouse reinforces the idea that it is the ultimate defensive symbol for the port. Visitors can also take a boat trip to the lighthouse and climb the tower to explore the fascinating nautical history of the region.
