Gullfoss Waterfall

Gullfoss is a thundering two-tier waterfall located in the southwest of Iceland. It's fed by the glacier river Hvítá and is renowned for its immense power and sheer beauty. Its name translates to 'Golden Waterfall' and is believed to be named after a golden hue created by its thundering waters that reflect off the canyon walls. Visitors can admire the 32m waterfall from the viewing platform located just 200m away or take a closer look by walking to the surrounding canyon, where they can feel the full force of the cascade. There is also a small visitor centre with a café and gift shop nearby. Gullfoss forms a striking backdrop for any photo and is a must-see when visiting Iceland.
