Braunfels and Marktplatz are situated in the Westerwald region of Germany. A charming medieval town, Braunfels is known for its quaint old-fashioned buildings and cobbled streets. The main attraction here is the Marktplatz, a central square surrounded by cafés and restaurants, with a weekly market every Sunday. Also worth seeing is the Kaiserturm, a 13th century defensive tower. If you love history, you'll be amazed by the other medieval sights, including the castle and the historic wells.
