The Basilica di San Francesco in Bologna, Italy, is a historic Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. Constructed in 1224-1304 AD, it is a Gothic-style building with a unique, polychrome terracotta facade. Inside, the church is renowned for its huge crypt — the largest of such in Europe — and its intricate stonework.
