Ananuri Kloster is historical and religious sight in Ananuri, Georgia. It was an important religious centre in the past and today it is a popular tourist destination. The monastery complex consists of three churches, two fortresses, and six towers. The churches are Assumption Cathedral, Mother of God Church and Barbare Eristavi Church. The oldest of the churches is Assumption Cathedral which dates back to the 17th century and is known for its beautiful frescoes which date back to the same century. The two fortresses are connected by the wall that has six towers. The wall is designed to protect the monastery. Ananuri Kloster is usually a very quiet and peaceful place which is great for spending time in nature, taking some nice photos or simply meditating.
