Transamerica Pyramid

The Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, United States, is an iconic element of the city’s skyline. Located in the Financial District, the Pyramid is the tallest skyscraper in the city and the second-tallest in the entire West Coast. The 853 ft tower was built in 1972 and can be seen from miles away. The original architect of the building, William Pereira, thought of it as a western version of the Step Pyramids of Egypt. The presence of the Pyramid has become a symbol of San Francisco’s distinctive urban culture. The more adventurous travellers should definitely make their way to the top and enjoy an aerial view of the city. There is also an excellent view of the Pyramid from the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
