Il Pontaccio

Il Pontaccio is an ancient stone bridge located in San Quirico d'Orcia in Tuscany, Italy. Viewed from below, it presents an artistic silhouetted mural composed with various trees and their reflections on the river's waters. It is a perfect spot to observe the amazing landscapes of the surrounding countryside plus the Medieval and Renaissance dwellings, which cradle the small Romanesque church of St. Pancras. Standing in the center of the bridge, you can admire the Tyrrenoian coast - from the Amiata Mount to the "crete" hills - also during sunset when lights and colors paint the landscape giving it a surreal, dream-like atmosphere. If you wish to get closer to the bridge, you can take a ride on the little stream, filling it with a unique and special charm.
