Fort Duquesne Bridge
📍 От Three Rivers Heritage Trail, United States
The Fort Duquesne Bridge is an impressive sight for travelers in Pittsburgh. It stretches across the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers and serves as the main connection between downtown Pittsburgh and the city’s North Shore. It was originally completed in 1921, but was destroyed in 1957 due to its age. The modern bridge was reconstructed and opened in 1969. Its span of nearly 400 meters makes it one of the longest cantilever bridges in the world. Visitors can take in the bridge’s architectural designs as they are walking and biking along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. It’s also perfectly placed for a unique view of Pittsburgh’s downtown skyline.
