Cologne Cathedral

Cologne Cathedral is one of Germany's most impressive and most visited monuments. Built between 1248 and 1880 and standing at a staggering 157 metres tall, it is the biggest Gothic cathedral in Germany and the largest church in Northern Europe. Constructed to serve as the town's religious centre, it is home to the Shrine of the Three Kings (a reliquary said to have contained the remains of the Three wise men, who were said to have visited the infant Jesus). Today, the cathedral serves as a landmark of the city, with its two west towers dominating the city's skyline. Surrounded by numerous restaurants and souvenir shops, tourists flock here everyday to admire its intricate details and majestic presence. There's no better way to experience its grandeur than to take a guided tour. The cathedral also hosts several concerts and performances throughout the year, making it a must-see for visitors.
