Baalbek Roman Ruins

Located in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon, the Baalbek Roman Ruins are renowned as one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments. The stone structure of the main temple, the Temple of Jupiter, features 54 massive granite columns that reach opening ceiling heights of up to 18 meters. The ruined interior offers stunning examples of Roman architecture, including a six-meter-tall gateway, intricate ornamentation, and zodiac mosaics. Additionally, the complex includes the remains of two temples dedicated to Venus and Bacchus, as well as a Roman theater, close to the edge of the cliff.
