The church served as a priory until the 16th century Reformation when the priory was dissolved. It is now a Grade I listed building, one of the best preserved examples of Norman architecture in Britain. It has a nave and two aisles, and a beautiful 12th-century chancel, as well as a tower from the 15th century. Inside, the church is paved with Roman tiles, and there are many artefacts from the Anglo-Saxon period. The church also has many stained glass windows, including some from the 15th century. Visitors can take a tour and learn about the history of the building and view interesting features such as the Anglo-Saxon altar cloth. Services are held daily and those looking for a place to stop and reflect in between their travels to the Yorkshire area will find this church to be the perfect spot.🗺 HartăAfișați pe hartă🎫 Atractii turisticeVerificați atracțiile turistice din apropiere🏨 PensiuniVerificați hostelurile din apropiere🌦 Informații meteoObțineți informații despre vreme și multe altele din aplicație.
