Shoana Church

The Shoana Church is a traditional 17th-century wooden church located in Imeni Kosta Khetagurova, Russia. Located in an idyllic mountain setting, the church is built out of pine logs and is one of the many fine examples of historical architecture in the region. The 17th-century walls feature three icons depicting Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist. The interior of the church is well-maintained, with some of the original 17th-century decorative details still in place. Visitors can explore the church and take in its wonderful atmosphere. Photography enthusiasts will find plenty to capture despite the absence of any great photo opportunities inside the church. There is a picturesque courtyard around the church, with gardens and ponds that can make ideal photo subjects.
