Sanctuary of Christ the King

The Sanctuary of Christ the King is a tall white structure located on the south bank of the Tagus River in Almada, Portugal. Standing at nearly 30m tall, the sanctuary is a stunning example of neo-Byzantine architecture and makes for an impressive view from many angles. Inside, visitors can explore the crypt and its many religious artifacts, including several sculptures and antique pieces. For a more expansive experience, there is a grand staircase that leads to the top of the monument, where visitors are treated to breathtaking views of the river and surrounding area.
