Pewits Nest

Pewits Nest and Skillet Creek are natural areas located in the city of Baraboo, Wisconsin, United States. The site offers some of the best scenery in the Baraboo Hills, and the two areas are very popular for hiking and nature exploration. Pewits Nest consists of two nature preserves with complex ecosystems, rich in native fauna and flora. Skillet Creek is a 10-mile creek running through the preserve, featuring sandstone cliffs, old forests, and abundant wildlife such as woodpeckers, eagles, and herons. Visitors can take trails and discover waterfalls, ponds, springs, and native prairie. In the same area, visitors will also find Tower Hill State Park, an old farmhouse where Abraham Lincoln resided while campaigning, a park, and a camping ground.
