The site is known for its spiritual atmosphere, with over 120 temples and shrine complexes scattered throughout the small mountain village. These include Danjo-ji Temple, famous for its "bodhisattva aisle" adorned with carvings of 1000 Kannon statues, as well as Kongobu-ji, the complex's administrative temple and the mausoleum of Kobo Daishi, the founder of Shingon sect. Visitors can also be enthralled by the incredible beauty of mountains, forests, and waterfalls.
