Hiroshima Castle

Hiroshima Castle is a beautiful landmark situated in the heart of Hiroshima City, Japan. It stands as a symbol of the city’s long and rich history and is an unmistakable part of the skyline. Built atop a hill overlooking the city center, its iconic donjon is visible from all around. The current five-story structure is actually a reconstruction of the castle built in 1589. Its interior is filled with different exhibits such as original artifacts, documents and photographs, as well as a replica of the original castle. Visitors can also enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding area from the topmost floor. Just outside the castle is a traditional Japanese garden with a tea house and a samurai house. The castle is easy to get to by public transportation and admission is free, making it an excellent spot for a visit.
