Castle Bürresheim

Castle Bürresheim is a legally protected monument located in the village of Sankt Johann in Germany. Built in the 13th century, the castle is situated on a hill and is surrounded by a 12th century stone wall. It contains a moat, four gatehouses, and nine towers, plus a beautiful baroque garden. Inside the castle's great hall, visitors can find many interesting original paintings, sculptures, and pieces of furniture that date back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Other interesting attractions at the castle include the chapel and the castle's very own brewery. There is also a cafe and a small gueshouse where visitors can spend the night. The castle is open to the public free of charge but reservations are required if you are interested in the guided tours.
