Buckingham Palace and Victoria Memorial in Greater London, United Kingdom is home to one of the most well-known and renowned royal residences in the world - Buckingham Palace. It has served as the official London residence of the British royal family since 1837. Adjoining the palace is the Victoria Memorial, a monument to the late Queen Victoria, unveiled in 1911. It is surrounded by a 25-acre garden created in the late 19th century for the enjoyment of the public. You can visit the State Rooms in Buckingham Palace, which are partly open to the public when the royal family is not in residence. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining, and entertainment in the surrounding area, from the excellent galleries, cafés, and restaurants of downtown London to the multiple outlets of the popular Westfield London shopping center.
