Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple

An eyecatching golden temple stands in the Namdroling Monastery, a popular pilgrimage site. Found 30 kilometres away from Mysore, in Sunkadahalli, it is a grand sight of the Tibetan Buddhism Sampad Bhavana. Also known as “The Place of the Four Harmonious Brothers”, it stands as the largest teaching centre of Nyingmapa Tibetan Buddhism in South India and hosts a big number of cultural, educational and religious activities. It also houses over 600 monks, multiple retreat centres and a huge library containing books about Indian Tibetology. The temple was founded in 1963 and its seven floor architecture with sprawling courtyards, containing multi-coloured images of God and Goddesses, is sure to leave its visitors in marvel.
