Harkness Tower is a beautiful neo-Gothic stone tower, situated in the heart of the Yale University Campus in New Haven, USA. Built in 1922, it is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the historic city. The tower itself is open to visitors who can ascend the 147-step spiral staircase to the viewing room at the top for an uninterrupted view of the Yale campus and beyond. The observation deck also houses a carillon of 54 bells, the largest assemblage in the United States. Each tower window also showcases status replicas and historic images of notable Yale alumni. While exploring the tower visitors can also get to know about Yale’s rich history and iconic architecture.
