The Peace Bridge

The Peace Bridge is a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that connects the communities of Derry and Strabane in Northern Ireland. It is approximately 200m long and spans the River Foyle. The bridge is built of light steel and is illuminated with LED lighting from underneath on both sides. It also features fiberglass arches which are lit in subtle tones to beautifully reflect the river below. This bridge was opened in 2011 as part of the UK City of Culture legacy and provides a great opportunity to admire the stunning landscape and views of the river Foyle. It is the perfect spot to go for a leisurely stroll, a quiet Sunday cycle, or to enjoy a romantic picnic. The bridge also features public sculptures along its sides, making it a great spot for art and culture buffs. Photographers can appreciate a spectacular view of the bridge in its entirety, framed against the city skyline.
