Half Dome

Half Dome, located in Yosemite Valley, United States, is an iconic granite dome that rises over 4,000 feet above the valley floor. The top of the dome can be seen from many places in the valley and beyond. The trail to the summit is one of the most challenging in the park and offers stunning views of Yosemite National Park on the way. While it is not a technically difficult climb, the ascent is long and strenuous, and hikers should be prepared for a long day. The trail is about 12 miles round-trip and should be completed in one day. However, it is possible to camp at the base of Half Dome and spend an extra night to allow for an easier hike. The top of the dome offers spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains, streams, and forests. Be sure to bring plenty of water and take breaks often to appreciate the spectacular scenery.
