Collegiata di San Giovanni Battista is a beautiful Romanesque style church located in the small town of San Giovanni in Persiceto, Italy. It dates back to the 12th century and is considered to be one of the most important historical monuments in the Bologna area. It was founded by members of the Valvasoni family and is still used today for services and festivals. Inside the Church, visitors can admire its elegant architecture and the impressive frescoes on the walls. The most important frescoes are the 12th century Madonna and Child by Gioacchino Paglia, and the Scenes from the Life of Jesus painted by Giulio Romano in the 16th century.
