Chimei Museum

The Chimei Museum is a Taiwan-based art museum located in the town of Chengkung, Tainan City. Founded in 1988, it houses over 8,000 pieces of art which come from all over the world including China, Japan, Europe, the United States and Taiwan. With a colorful range of collections such as paintings, sculptures, artifacts, and a large selection of other works, the museum showcases the history and culture of the world with each item being unique.

The museum also houses extraordinary culinary delights, renovated 1920s galleries, and a park with interactive displays. Visitors can explore five floors of world-class collections, films, and productions covering art, medicine, science, and the environment. Other attractions include the Mirage Dome where a variety of nightscape shows are produced and the Toy and Doll Gallery. The museum offers a unique and educational day out for those fascinated with art and culture, as well as Taiwan's history. There are also museums which focus on specific topics such as the ornamental Plants and Garden Museum and the Handicraft and Art Gallery. The gift shop is a must-stop spot before leaving and the cafeteria provides a place to get energized in between visiting the galleries.
