It was built in 1494 and is the only remaining tower from a line of seven defense towers that once protected the northern area of the city’s walls. At almost twenty-seven meters tall, it’s an impressive and iconic sight. The bygone function of Torre di San Prospero is remembered in its imposing structure and picturesque location. It stands proud on the banks of the Enza River, surrounded by fields of wheat and barley. From the tower’s terrace, visitors are rewarded with stunning views in all directions, taking in the lush countryside and the countryside’s bright red brick buildings.
