Piazza Gae Aulenti is an iconic public square located in Milano, Italy. The piazza is situated in an upscale area of the city that was once home to a number of important structures, including the headquarters of the National Steamship Company of Italy and the Palazzo della Borsa. It was named after the renowned Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti who designed the square in 1996, transforming the landscape of the area. The main focus of Piazza Gae Aulenti is a giant steel sculpture by the Dutch artist Carsten Höller. The sculpture is a massive structure reaching up to 13 metres in height and is made of interlocking stainless steel rings and winding pathways. The piazza also features a stunning marble fountain, as well as landscaped gardens and walkways. Despite its exclusive location, the piazza is open to the public and makes for an inviting and breathtaking sight.
