Leuchtturm Warnemünde

Warnemünde is a popular holiday resort in Germany's Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The Leuchtturm Warnemünde, or the Warnemünde Lighthouse, is an iconic sight in the port of Warnemünde, perched on a cylindrical brick tower. This lighthouse was built in 1897 and is home to a maritime museum. Visitors can take the steps up the tower interior to the top and be greeted with some breathtaking views of the Baltic Sea and outlying islands. Once up the levels, a platform allows visitors to view the entire coastline extending westward along the beach. Further attractions in Warnemünde include Germany's first seawater spa, beachfront cafes and restaurants, and a harbor that often hosts excursions. The sandy beach is also a great spot for those who love swimming and soaking up the sun!
