Cube Houses - Van Blaak, NetherlandsU@gr8pixel - UnsplashCube Houses馃搷 Van Blaak, NetherlandsThe Cube Houses at Rotterdam are an iconic architectural landmark in the Netherlands, designed by Dutch architect Piet Blom. Housed in the neighbourhood of Blaak, the Cube Houses consist of 39 cubes, tilted on their side and perched at angles of around 45 degrees. The cubes vary in height and each house is connected by staircases, allowing for a 360 degree view of the city. The houses were originally designed to be low-cost housing, but today they are primarily used as offices and apartment buildings. Inside the cubes, visitors will find novel living spaces, with living rooms and bedrooms entered through trapdoors, or via ladders leading to mezzanine floors. Popular with photographers and sightseers, the Cube Houses offer photogenic angles and provide great views of the city.
