Built in 1806, it was designed by Luigi Cagnola at the behest of the Napoleonic government. It is a triumphal arch framed by two giant Doric columns, with a bas-relief frieze depicting allegories of the Arts and of Religion. Its grand design is one of the finest examples of Neoclassical architecture in Milan, and it makes for a perfect photo backdrop. Standing 23 metres high, it is one of the main sights of the city, and reflects the pervasive Empire style of the early 19th century. The arch is a popular destination for tourists and locals who come to admire its magnificence, take photos, and stroll along the canals.🗺 KaartToon op kaart🎫 Toeristische attractiesControleer toeristische attracties in de buurt🏨 HerbergenControleer hostels in de buurt🌦 Weer informatieOntvang weersinformatie en nog veel meer vanuit de app. Download het gratis!🚕 Hoe daar te komen?Ontvang route-informatie (met de auto, te voet, openbaar vervoer, enz.) en nog veel meer vanuit de app. Download het gratis!
