Salinas Grandes

Salinas Grandes is a salt flat located in the north of the Argentinian province of San Luis. It is a special kind of environment, unique in its kind, and it is part of the Santuario de Tres Pozos. The salt flat consists of a vast area of white salt and blue sky, with a few tufts of vegetation here and there. It’s a colorful landscape, with the most astonishing sunrises and sunsets you’ll ever see! The best way to explore the area is to hike across the salt flats, and with some luck, you can find one of the two existing lagoons. And even though it’s remote, it is quite easily reached thanks to the well-maintained gravel road that passes through it. No matter if it’s on foot or on a vehicle, Salinas Grandes is well worth a visit.
