Ponte Tibetano - Ponte Nel Cielo

Ponte Tibetano is a popular destination for travelers and photographers in Italy. Nestled in the idyllic Valtellina valleys of the stunning city of Tartano, this suspension bridge and hiking trail are a great way to explore the beauty of the landscape. Spanning more than 400 meters, the bridge's height makes it visible for miles around, and its dangling cables create a unique optical illusion that looks as if the bridge is floating in the air. Part of the trek to reach the bridge includes a trip down the Boggia Falls, a cascading narrow gorge steeped in a mythological story about the spirit of the river. Ponte Nel Cielo (Bridge to the sky) is the nickname given to Ponte Tibetano due to its enchantment and breath-taking views of the rugged Alpi Orobie peaks and the nearby Lombardy plains.

Ponte Tibetano is easily accessed from Tartano; just a 30 minute drive to the Biandino and walking for around 4km to get you there. While on the bridge you can expect an adrenaline rush and the opportunity to observe rare species of birds living on the cliffs. This special place is certainly worth the time and effort to make the journey and capture its splendor.
