Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg

Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg is a picturesque castle perched atop a hilltop in the commune of Orschwiller in Alsace, France. It was constructed taking the form of a 12th century castle and was refurbished during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The castle stands at 750m in elevation, and thus forms an impressive spectacle on the skyline against surrounding hills, vineyards and forests. Visitors can explore the towers, ramparts, courtyards and chambers, gaining an insight into life from a thousand years ago. There is also an interactive museum inside the castle grounds.
