Cathédrale de Monaco

Cathédrale de Monaco is a stunning Romanesque-Byzantine-style building located in the heart of Monaco. It was built by the reigning prince of Monaco in 1875 and is now used as the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Monaco. Visitors can expect to find beautiful interiors including decorated columns, huge stained glass windows, tombs, a golden altar and a 19th century organ. The outside is covered in a striking white limestone, while the interior is decorated in grandiose red, purple and gold. The afternoon light is especially beautiful which makes it perfect for photographers. Guided tours are available on certain days, which provide more information about the impressive structure.
