The chapel, which is situated on a steep slope below a terraced vineyard, was built in 1686 to commemorate the end of the bubonic plague which struck the region in 1635. The chapel is a stunning example of Baroque style in Germany, featuring a striking fresco of St. Rochus attributed to the Dutch painter Vincento Coessel, as well as a beautifully crafted altar depicting Mary, the Angels, and St. Benedict of Nursia. Inside the chapel there is also a statue of St. Rochus and a memorial plaque in his honor. A pilgrimage to the chapel is still held each year to commemorate those who lost their lives to the plague. The view from the chapel across the Moselle River valley is stunning, making it an excellent place for nature lovers and photographers alike. An excellent way to explore the area is by taking a leisurely walk along the Moselle River, as well as the village of Cochem and its beautiful old buildings.🗺 地図地図上に表示🎫 観光名所近くの観光スポットをチェック🏨 ホステル近くのホステルをチェック🌦 気象情報アプリから天気情報などを取得します。無料でダウンロードしてください!🚕 そこに着く方法?アプリからルート情報 (車、徒歩、公共交通機関など) などを入手できます。無料でダウンロードしてください!
