Tsūtenkaku is a tower located in the Shinsekai neighborhood of Osaka, Japan. Built in 1912, the tower was originally intended as a symbol of resurgence and hope in the aftermath of a devastating fire. Originally standing 54 meters tall, recent renovations resulted in the tower reaching its current height of 93 meters. Generally considered one of the most iconic landmarks in the city, the exterior of the tower boasts an impressive art-deco style and is decorated with countless neon lighting signs.
Just a couple minutes from Tsūtenkaku you'll find the Hozan-Yaki Soba shops. These unmissable restaurants are renowned for their steaming hot noodle dishes, all made with fresh ingredients from Tsūtenkaku's vegetable market. As you make your way up the tower, you can enjoy glorious, panoramic scenes of Osaka city. Stop off at the observation deck for a moment to take it all in before you reach the top. On clear days, you can experience some of the most spectacular views in the country, stretching as far as the Kansai airport.
