Salinas de Cabo Rojo

Salinas de Cabo Rojo is a protected area and a bird sanctuary located in Puerto Rico. Natural Lake such as Laguna Torrecilla, Lorencillo and Joyuda, surrounded by mangrove trees, facing the crystal waters of the Caribbean Sea. It is one of the best locations in the area to observe migratory birds like the magnificent frigate bird, herons and ducks. Other characters that can be observed are iguanas, crabs and other animals resident of the area. There are a few trails that visitors could explore such as the popular ¨Los Puentes¨ and ¨Caracoles¨ trail.
