The Pont de Besalú, in Besalú, Spain, is a remarkable medieval bridge that spans the Fluvià River. Built in the 12th century, the bridge provided a vital connection between the two sides of the river. Its single arch is supported by three arcades with the central one being larger than the other two. Characteristically, the central section was built using Roman stones, while the rest was made from darker masonry. Today, the bridge serves as a major tourist attraction for the town and is a great spot for taking photos. The view from the bridge and from the riverbanks is incredible and definitely worth seeing. The bridge is part of the historical center of Besalú, which is also worth taking time to explore.
