Isla de Zuaza is a biological reserve located near the town of Ullíbarri-Gamboa, Spain. It is a small island located in the Zuaza estuary, surrounded by several small rivers and wetlands. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including many species of birds, mammals, and fish. There are plenty of walking trails on the island, and several observation points from which visitors can take in the beauty of the ever-changing river and wetlands. This is also a great area to observe the flocks of flamingos that call Isla de Zuaza home. The water level in the estuary varies considerably, creating an incredibly diverse landscape for photographers. Boats can be rented to explore the surrounding areas, though it is also quite common to spot animals in the more shallow areas. Isla de Zuaza is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and wild places in northern Spain, and well worth a visit.
