Centraal Station

Centraal Station in Rotterdam, Netherlands is the city's main railway station and the largest in the country. Built in 1960, this postmodern style railway station was designed by the Dutch architect Sybold van Ravesteyn. Although the building looks quite plain from the outside, it is opulently decorated on the inside with detailed stonework and numerous artworks. Centraal Station is a great starting point for exploring Rotterdam, as it has direct connections to the city's other train, metro, and tram networks. Additionally, it links the city to the Netherlands' other major cities, such as Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. A unique feature of the station is the impressive skylight which floods the hall with natural light.
