Illa Roja Beach

Illa Roja is a scenic white-sand beach on the Costa Brava in Begur, Spain. Here you’ll find beautiful Mediterranean Sea waters and magnificent rocky landscapes straight out of a postcard. Although the beach can get crowded in summer, the incredible views and secluded coves are enough to make this a worthwhile stop off on your travels. The Illa Roja has crystal-clear waters and is surrounded by cliffs that keep the waters still and clean. It also has a small natural cove, with a bridge connecting both parts of the beach. The beach has a few sun loungers available for visitors, although this can vary depending on how many people are there. There are no nightlife spots or restaurants nearby, so it’s best to bring food and drink if you’re planning on staying for a while. There are also no lifeguards at Illa Roja and the beach is not always suited for swimming since the ocean can get choppy due to strong winds. But with the incredible views it’s worth a visit all the same.
