The Basilica Cattedrale San Sabino is a stunning Romanesque-style cathedral located in Bari, Italy. Built in 1035, the cathedral is dedicated to Saint Sabinus, one of the first Christian martyrs and is considered the mother church of Bari. Adorned with mosaics, frescoes, statues, and a beautiful organ and marble altar, the expanse and majesty of the cathedral’s interior captivates visitors. Climb up to the roof and enjoy spectacular views of Bari. On the grounds, visitors can also visit the church and monastery of S. Lucia, the cloisters of the Schola Greca, and the tomb of Blessed Gregorio, the city's patron saint. One of the most striking features of the basilica is the preserved Capitano del Popolo tower - a reminder of the triumph of Bari's citizens over the Saracens in the 11th century.
