Pacific Wheel

The Pacific Wheel is an iconic Ferris wheel in Santa Monica, California. It stands on the historic Santa Monica Pier, which was built in 1909, making it one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States. The bright yellow Pacific Wheel itself was installed in 1996, replacing the original wooden merry-go-round built in 1922. On clear days, the wheel’s 30 nestled gondolas supply an exhilarating view of the Pacific Ocean and the nearby mountains. At night, they light up the pier’s southern end in a dazzling display of color. The wheel operates daily, from early morning until late in the evening, and its tickets are available to purchase at the pier or online.
